Finding support when you need it most can be a difficult and daunting process, especially if that support is for your child. Here is a little more about me to help in your decision making.
Hello, I’m Alex
I’m a clinical psychologist and mum of one. I currently work part time in the NHS at the Evelina Children’s Hospital and spend the rest of my week balancing being a mum and running a small private practice based in Tunbridge Wells, Kent. I love working with children and young people as it allows for so much creativity and variety in sessions.
In my NHS job I work with children with physical health conditions and really enjoy supporting them as they navigate what it means to live with a long-term condition. I notice so much resilience and strength in them and find it so rewarding to be alongside young people in their health journey.
In private practice I work with children experiencing a range of difficulties, including physical health challenges, neurodiversity, mental health needs including anxiety and low mood, and learning needs. Part of my private practice is working with young people who have suffered an acquired brain injury, providing psychological support, neurorehabilitation, liaison with schools and other agencies and support for family members. The final part of my private work is related to early years parenting. This includes supporting those taking their first steps into parenthood (managing pregnancy and the fourth trimester, parental wellbeing in the first year etc.) as well as supporting with parenting challenges such as supporting behaviour and navigating parenting style/choices.
It can be difficult to decide who is the right psychologist for you and your family. After all, the relationship is at the centre of all the work. I offer a free 15 minute consultation for us to chat about what support you are looking for, what I can offer and answer any questions you have about the process. Please head to my Enquire page to book a call.
